Cherokee County Fair Celebrates 90th Year

The 2016 fair will run Sept. 20-25 at the American Legion Post 45 fairgrounds in Canton.

WOODSTOCK, GA -- The 90th annual Cherokee County Fair is up and running, and is waiting for you and your family to come and enjoy the long-standing tradition.

This year's fair will run from Tuesday, Sept. 20 to Sunday, Sept. 25 at the American Legion Post 45 fairgrounds at 160 McClure Street in Canton.

The fair, sponsored by the Canton-based American Legion post, will feature rides and amusements from Peachtree Rides.

Gates will open at 5 p.m. Tuesday, 3 p.m. Wednesday, 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Children 5 and under as well as adults 65 and over will be admitted for free. The fee is $2 for children 6 to 12 years old and $4 for everyone between 13 and 64 years old.

Vehicle parking will be coordinated by Cherokee High School's JROTC and will be a $2 donation for each car.

Returning this year will be the 11th annual Miss Cherokee Fair Pageant, which will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 on the main stage.

Also set for 2016 will be the Youth Dog Show, which will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22.
