Cherokee Office Of Economic Development Awarded For Excellence
The Cherokee Office of Economic Development received two gold awards and one silver from the International Economic Development Council.

CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA — The Cherokee Office of Economic Development recently won three Excellence in Economic Development Awards at the International Economic Development Council’s Annual Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Cherokee Office received Gold Awards for both the Cherokee 75 Corporate Park(Real Estate and Reuse) and the Cherokee By Choice Case for Support (Print Brochure), and a Silver Award for the 2018 Cherokee Office of Economic Development Year in Review (Annual Report).
“(Cherokee Office of Economic Development) is honored to be one of three metro Atlanta-based organizations recognized for excellence in economic development among our international peers,” said Marshall Day, Chairman of the Cherokee Office of Economic Development. “These projects embrace sustainability and drive diverse economic development within our community.”
International Economic Development Council's Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognize the world's best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials, and the year's most influential leaders. The 34 award categories honor organizations and individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in urban, suburban, and rural communities. Awards are judged by a diverse panel of economic and community developers from around the world, following a nomination process held earlier this year. The International Economic Development Council received over 400 submissions from 12 countries.

“The recipients of (International Economic Development Council's) Excellence in Economic Development awards represent the very best of economic development and exemplify the ingenuity, integrity, and leadership that our profession strives for each and every day,” said 2019 International Economic Development Council Board Chair, Tracye McDaniel. “We’re honored to recognize more than 100 communities for their excellent work, which forges new opportunities for our profession. We look forward to even greater participation from economic developers across the globe in the 2020 awards program.”
