Cherokee Schools Make Decision On Dec. 11 Classes
BREAKING: While the county's main thoroughfares are passable, secondary streets and neighborhood roads remain dicey.
CANTON GA -- All Cherokee County School District schools will be closed on Monday, Dec. 11 due to the lingering threat of snow and ice on roadways across the county.
The school district said the decision was based on "continued poor travel conditions" on secondary roads as well as neighborhoods throughout the county. District spokesperson Barbara Jacoby also said "compromised" access to multiple school campuses factored into the system's decision to cancel classes.
The Dec. 11 closure also applies to district faculty and staff members, Jacoby added.

Cherokee Charter Academy will also close its doors for Monday, Dec. 11, its Facebook page said.
