Cobb EMC Community Foundation Grant Provides Music Therapy

Throughout 2019, our clients in Day Program and Job Skills have participated in and been enriched by our music therapy program. This program, funded by a wonderful Cobb EMC Community Foundation Grant, provides our clients with opportunities to identify and relate to music each week with our music therapist, Jody. In many cases, music provides a unique opportunity for our clients to express themselves in ways that they typically cannot in everyday life. This self-expression is evident and the joy is immediately felt as clients join in with the playing of instruments. For a population that can struggle to be understood by society, our music therapy program, enabled by Cobb EMC Community Foundation, is a haven for connection and creativity.
