Funeral On Sunday For Woodstock Mom Found Dead By Children

WOODSTOCK, GA -- The funeral service for the Woodstock woman who was found dead inside her apartment will be held over the weekend.

The service for Christy Renee Jones Waller, 41, will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 12 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.

Waller's family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 11 at the funeral home.

Woodstock officers were dispatched around 4 p.m. Friday, March 3 of a woman reported to be deceased inside a unit at Alta Ridgewalk Apartments, which are located off Ridgewalk Parkway east of Interstate 575.

Detectives identified the body as Waller's and her boyfriend, Michael Keith Russell, has been charged in connection to her death. Russell remains held without bond at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on malice murder, felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault and false imprisonment charges.

A GoFundMe page to raise funds to help cover expenses related to her mother's funeral and burial.

"My mom is so loved by many and will be missed, and I want a more than perfect funeral for my guardian angel," Payton Waller, one of Christy Waller's children, wrote.

According to her obituary, Waller is survived by husband Danny Waller; parents, Loy and Carolyn Jones; children, Payton and Braden Waller; father and mother-in-laws, Lamar and Carolyn Waller; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
