Gold’s Kristina Friedrichs To Swim For Colorado State Rams

Kristina heads for Fort Collins, Colorado, in the fall of 2018 after 10 years of competing for Woodstock-based Chattahoochee Gold.

Kristina Friedrichs is ready to take an exceptional swim career to the next level, committing to swim for the Colorado State Rams.

So far in 2017, Kristina was a finalist in 100 Butterfly at the Speedo Sectionals meet in Greensboro, North Carolina swimming for Chattahoochee Gold; and representing the Sequoyah High School Chiefs, she placed fourth in 100 Freestyle & 50 Butterfly at the Georgia Senior State Championship meet.

Kristina credits Chattahoochee Gold for helping her develop the skills to be successful at a Division One university. “Swimming for Gold and the influence of my coach Mark Schilling, have had a positive effect in my development as a student-athlete. Teamwork, dedication, sacrifice, individual responsibility, goal setting, having fun and most of all time management are take-away lessons that will benefit me in college and for the rest of my life.”

Why CSU? “CSU had everything that I was looking for academically and the campus was beautiful. When I visited, the team was so welcoming and nice. The coaching staff was great and I loved everything about it. I have always wanted to travel and this is an incredible opportunity for me to chase my dreams, experience the academic and athletic challenges and use that to grow as a person. I want to help the team achieve the greatest success possible, continue to reach my full potential as a swimmer, make some lifelong friendships, and have some fun along the way. The sky's the limit!”

Gold Coach Mark Schilling says Kristina “has been such a great leader at Gold that I know she will do an amazing job in Colorado. Her work ethic and enthusiasm have been amazing so I am overjoyed that she found the right fit for her!”
