Hobgood Baseball Hosts Team From Croatia

Two scrimmage games will be played Thursday, April 13 at Field 5 at Hobgood Baseball Park.

WOODSTOCK, GA -- On Thursday, Hobgood Baseball will host a youth baseball team from Croatia at its complex in Woodstock.

Two scrimmage games will be played against the 11U Hobgood Braves Red and Blue travel teams. The pitch for the first game will be held at 6 p.m. April 13 on Field 5 at 4700 Towne Lake Parkway. The second game gets underway at 7:15 p.m.

The event is made possible through the Atlanta International Umpires Association, Hobgood Baseball said.

This visit is part of the international diplomacy through youth sports initiative. The players are coming from Croatia, and will stay in Atlanta for several days and play a series of scrimmages with Atlanta youth baseball teams.

“Hobgood Baseball is honored to be a part of the Croatian team visit to Atlanta,” said Matt McKenna, chairman of the Hobgood Baseball Board of Directors. “Baseball brings youth from all walks of life together and we are excited to welcome these international players to Cherokee County.”
