WOODSTOCK, GA — Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services fought a structure fire shortly before 10 a.m. on Thursday at 6004 Hollow Drive near Woodstock.

Cherokee County 911 received a call regarding a house fire and that people were still inside, including a 65-year-old man who was unable to get up due to possibly being in a wheelchair. Minutes later, 911 received a call from a man who identified himself as a trash collector who said he got the man out of the house and no one else was inside.

Firefighters arrived at the scene to find the man on the ground in the front yard. Capt. Josh Wilkie said that he assigned one of the firefighters to take care of the man while others began to fight the structure fire.
