Fane said he drove to Hidden Falls, where his girlfriend lives, after being shot earlier at the Waldan Pond apartment complex on Bells Ferry Road, one mile south of the mobile home park.
The shooter, who police said is Elam, fled in a gold Infiniti, which was later found abandoned off Wooten Lake Road in Cobb County.
Fane told detectives the meeting at Waldan Pond was to complete the online sale of a pair of shoes. Fane said a man took his shoes and then shot him.
Cherokee Sheriff's investigators also charged Elam with an additional count of armed robbery from a Feb. 3 incident at the Walmart off Bells Ferry Road, where Elam is accused of robbing a woman at gunpoint and taking her phone and cash.
