Presidents' Day 2019: What's Open, Closed In Cherokee

Presidents' Day doesn't see as many closures as other federal holidays. Several banks are closing, though.

CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA — Presidents' Day is observed this Monday, Feb. 18, and it won't have too much of an effect on what's open and closed in the area. The holiday was actually established in 1885 to honor President George Washington. It was later renamed Presidents Day to celebrate the birthdays of both Washington on Feb. 22 and President Abe Lincoln's birthday on Feb. 12.

Cherokee County schools have a holiday Feb. 18 to 19.

Recycling and trash pick up will go as normal.
