Real Estate Team Branches Off, Forms New Brokerage
Becky Babcock's Path & Post will move away from the ERA Sunrise Realty franchise to form an independent brokerage company in Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK, GA -- Cherokee County’s top selling real estate team for more than a decade announced on Thursday it will open a new independent brokerage in Woodstock.
After 13 years as a real estate team in metro Atlanta and three years as the No. 1 agent team in the U.S. for the entire ERA franchise, Becky Babcock’s Path & Post team will branch away from ERA to operate as its own independent brokerage company.
“We’re taking our Path & Post brand to the next level, while continuing to innovate and provide the most opportunity for our clients,” Babcock said. “To do this, we needed the freedom of an independent brokerage, without the inherent constraints of being co-branded with a corporate franchise.”

The Path & Post brand combines the best of good, old-fashioned customer service with the advantages of top technology tools to give clients an edge over the competition, Babcock said.
Brad Nix, who led the team with Babcock for the last three years, is a co-owner and business partner in the new Path & Post Real Estate brokerage. Babcock will serve as chief executive officer and Nix will serve as chief operations officer.

“After working these past few years to build a unique real estate model that aligns agent and client goals, it was time to give the team a greater chance to grow,” Babcock said of the partnership with Nix.
Nix brings a diverse 19-year career in real estate brokerage, technology innovation, and marketing strategy to the partnership.
“In recent years, our industry has seen explosive growth in the team model, as well as a majority (55 percent) of agents now working for independent brokerages,” Nix said. “Our goal with Path & Post Real Estate is to combine those strengths by operating as a nationally ranked team brokerage – the first of its kind based in our local community of Cherokee County.”
According to Babcock, in the real estate industry, agents typically wear many hats, switching between working with buyers and sellers, and handling administrative tasks, which can inevitably lead to dropping balls and missed opportunities for clients.
Nix said the Path & Post team structure is the opposite of the industry norm, instead allowing specialists to focus solely on buyers, sellers, or administrative support. This structure allows team members to prioritize clients as they go through the life transitions associated with the moving process, Babcock said.
“This focus on transitions, over transactions, is backed by the team’s strong emphasis on its core values of respect, unity, and the Golden Rule plus,” Babcock said.
“Find your Path” is a theme the team uses to show the client’s path is the primary focus, with the agent as a guide along the client’s journey.
After 13 years at ERA Sunrise Realty with CEO David Moody, Babcock said she would always be grateful for her time there.
“I truly appreciated David’s support and encouragement over the years, and will always consider him a friend, along with the rest of the ERA Sunrise Realty family,” she said.
Babcock went on to say that she and Moody have the utmost respect for each other as entrepreneurs and leaders in the community.
Babcock and Nix led their team to an impressive 35 percent year-over- year growth last year. The team’s 280 sales last year ranked them in the top 250 teams in the U.S, No. 5 team in Georgia, and No. 1 team in Cherokee County, among all brokerages, as well as the No. 1 team in the U.S. for ERA Franchise Systems in both sales and customer service, based on actual customer surveys after closings.
The Path & Post Team primarily serves the north Metro Atlanta communities of Cherokee, Cobb, North Fulton, Forsyth, Pickens, and surrounding areas.
