From the Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency:
On Wednesday, when tornado safety is emphasized, residents, schools and businesses statewide are encouraged to participate in Ready Georgia’s PrepareAthon! For Tornado Safety, a statewide tornado drill. The NWR TEST Warning Message will scroll across the NOAA Weather Radio at 9 AM on Wednesday (or the backup day – Friday). You will not receive an audible alert from your NOAA Weather Radio as you do during a true Tornado Warning.
IMPORTANT: Cherokee County EMA will conduct the regular monthly test of the outdoor warning siren system at noon on Wednesday– if weather permits. No action is required from you during the siren test. A CodeRED notification will be sent on Wednesday morning to let you know whether the siren test will take place.
