Sheriff's Office: Man Died Saturday Crossing Hwy 92, Robin Rd
Preliminary indications are that neither speed nor impairment was a contributing factor to the accident, which remains under investigation.
ACWORTH, GA — An Acworth man died Sunday after he was struck by a car while crossing the road this weekend.
Cherokee Sheriff's deputies responded to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle call on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Hwy 92 and Robin Road in the Acworth area.
The pedestrian, who was in the crosswalk, was crossing Hwy 92 from Woodstock Furniture Outlet and was headed north across Hwy. 92. The motorist was traveling in the same direction as the pedestrian and when he turned left to travel west on Hwy. 92 he struck the pedestrian.

The pedestrian, Donald Beacham, 64, of Acworth, was transported to Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries. Beacham died from his injuries at Kennestone on Sunday.
The driver of the vehicle, Kevin Orr, 63, of Acworth, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
