Strut Your Mutt Set For Aug. 25 At Patriots Park

Half of all proceeds from this event will be donated to the Cherokee County Animal Shelter.

ACWORTH, GA — The Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency will celebrate National Dog Day with an event designed to showcase your four-legged family member. Strut Your Mutt will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25 at Patriots Park in Acworth.

The event will include contests for Best Dressed (for small and large dogs), Best Trick and Dog Owner Look Alike contest.

You can also expect to see and mingle with dog-related vendors, and learn more about the Cherokee County Animal Shelter, Cherokee County Marshal’s Office, the Cherokee Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit and other organizations and agencies.

All registered dogs will receive a free Frosty Paws at the Yappy Hour Station provided by South Cherokee Veterinary Hospital. Woodstock Veterinary Hospital will also provide reduced-cost vaccinations for dogs as well.

Pre-registration is required for this event, and can be done on CRPA's website. Pre-registration for shots provided by the Woodstock Veterinary Hospital can also be done on its website.
