On Saturday, June 29, 2019, Habitat-NCG held the dedication of two homes in Woodstock for the Roodbarani/Kiaei and Perry families. Through the rain, mud, and heat, these families have worked side by side to complete their required sweat equity as part of the Habitat homebuyer program. Both homeowners’ daughters, all around the same age, also participated on the build site. The girls have begun developing a friendship during the build that may last a lifetime!
Neither of these builds would have been possible without our sponsors who provide funds and volunteer labor to construct these homes. Sponsors on the Roodbarani/Kiaei home include: ADP, Citrix, CONA Services, Enercon, MarketSource, State Farm, Synovus, The UPS Foundation, Travelers, and Turf Masters. The Perry house was sponsored by: Enercon, Lutheran Coalition, L3Technologies, Wells Fargo, Schoen Insulation Services, The UPS Foundation, Travelers, Windsong, and Sequoyah High School.

Habitat for Humanity-North Central Georgia is a non-profit, Christian housing ministry that builds simple, decent homes for purchase by low- to moderate-income families who demonstrate a capacity for responsible homeownership. Since its inception in 1995, Habitat-NCG has completed 300 homes, serving over 1,275 family members in North Fulton, Cherokee and Forsyth/Dawson counties. Each family is required to attend educational classes related to homeownership and perform 200 sweat equity hours. Families earn between 30% and 60% of the Atlanta area median income and purchase their homes through a 30-year, no-interest loan financed by Habitat-NCG. In addition to new home construction, Habitat-NCG started a home repair program in 2014. To date, 44 repair projects have been completed primarily serving veterans and seniors.
