Woo Pig Sooie! Gold Swimmer Bound for University of Arkansas

Delaney says she chose Arkansas, "because of their successful (swim) program, amazing coaching staff and resources, and great academics."

Chattahoochee Gold standout swimmer Delaney Harrison has committed to swim and study at the University of Arkansas. "I think Arkansas chose to offer me because of my work ethic, drive to get better, and my ability to balance academics and athletics. I feel they will provide me with the best opportunities swimming and resource wise."

Delaney has excelled for the Chattahoochee Gold club team for the past six years. "My teammates' accomplishments and successes inspire and motivate me every day and I am beyond grateful for every single one of them. Coach Mark Schilling and my teammates help push me and motivate me at practice and they believe in me, which ultimately allowed me to succeed and presented me with the opportunity to compete D1." Division I is the highest level of intercollegiate athletics sanctioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

Her proudest accomplishments with Chattahoochee Gold include winning the Women's 100 Freestyle competition at the 2019 Senior State meet at the University of Georgia, competing at the 2019 National Club Swimming Association Championship meet in Orlando and breaking Chattahoochee Gold team records in 14U 200 & 400 Freestyle relays.

As Delaney contemplates her adventure on the UA Fayetteville campus starting in Autumn 2022, she also looks back fondly on her time with Chattahoochee Gold. "Being able to spend so much time with my best friends and all the fun and crazy memories that I’ve made with them over the years. I am extremely grateful and want to thank Coach Mark. Throughout the past months he has provided me with advice and confidence in practice that have helped me tremendously. I think in the past 3 years he has helped me grow as a swimmer and as a person."

As Delaney's coach, Mark Schilling knows that the Razorback women's swim squad is getting a tenacious competitor: “I am amazingly proud of Delaney for her signing with Arkansas. Delaney has worked incredibly hard the last several years to get to the point she is at now. Not only has she learned to become extremely tough-minded in her training, but she has also become an amazing teammate. She is going to be a great asset for the Razorbacks."

Delaney plans to study Pre Law.

Chattahoochee Gold is based at the Woodstock Aquatic Center and also trains swimmers at the Mountain View Aquatic Center in Marietta & Cumming Aquatic Center.
