Woodstock Concert Series Begins Saturday With New Rules
The Woodstock Concert Series is coming back tomorrow, Saturday, May 11. New this year are rules changes regarding chairs and coolers.

WOODSTOCK, GA — The much-anticipated Woodstock Concert Series is coming back to the Park at City Center on Saturday with this year marking the 22nd season, May 11, but not without a few changes. Since 1998, the City of Woodstock has hosted thousands of people in Downtown Woodstock by providing these free family friendly concerts.
The Woodstock Summer Concert Series will be held at Northside Hospital Cherokee Amphitheater. Each concert will start at 7:30 p.m. and admission is free.
Similar to last year, city officials are currently working to finalize plans to utilize a shuttle for off-site parking. A third shuttle stop has been added this year.

The city posted online that new rules for the Woodstock Summer Concert Series have been approved by the Woodstock City Council, including:
- Chairs are not allowed to be put out in the park until after 5 p.m. on the Thursday before the concert. If any chairs are placed in the park earlier than that, the chairs will be removed and placed in a non-secure holding area on site until Monday morning at 8 a.m. at which time they will be determined to be abandoned and will be discarded.
- The amphitheater is located in an open park. Chairs may be moved and/or blocked for production and concession load in.
- Plastic tarps are not allowed on the ground or staked into the ground and will be removed.
- Lawn chairs, beach chairs, bag chairs or cloth blankets (with no plastic backing) are recommended. Staff will remove any plastic on the ground, stakes and roped off areas.
- The maximum size of coolers allowed in the event has been reduced from 48 quarts to a more manageable 28 quarts. Coolers above 28 quarts or glass containers will not be allowed in to the events.
The series will open with country music legend and hometown favorite, Mark Wills.

“Recently inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, Mark Wills will return to our outdoor music venue for a second time” Jeff Moon, City Manager said in a release. “Mark Wills was the first headliner on the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater stage and Woodstock will celebrate his induction to the Grand Ole Opry on this night."
Then, on Saturday, June 8, Woodstock will welcome Better than Ezra to the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater stage. Better than Ezra, an alternative rock band, will entertain the crowd with their hits like “Good,” a 1995 single that hit No. 1 on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks charts.
On Saturday, July 13, B.B. King Blues Band featuring Michael Lee will headline the show. For over half a century, B.B. King and B.B. King’s Blues Band defined the blues to the world. Now, Michael Lee (from the hit TV show "The Voice") has teamed up with B.B. King’s Blues Band to tour, keeping the musical legacy of B.B. King alive.
On Saturday, August 10, Woodstock will welcome the Little River Band. Through the 70s and 80s, LRB enjoyed huge chart success with multi-platinum albums and chart-topping hits like: “Reminiscing,” “Cool Change,” “Lonesome Loser,” “The Night Owls,” “Take It Easy On Me,” and “Help Is on Its Way.”
The closing show of the 22nd Annual Woodstock Summer Concert Series will take place on September 14 with the Molly Ringwalds taking to the Amphitheater stage. This cover band is sure to take concert-goers on a trip back to the 80s with hits that defined this totally cool musical era.
