Woodstock Dancers Invited To Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

WOODSTOCK, GA — Local dancers from Studio 55 Dance located in Woodstock have been invited to participate in the 93rd Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Studio 55 Dance owner Kaila May received the invitation to participate shortly after her dance company competed in the Groove dance competition in Nashville, Tennessee. In addition to individual dance awards, Studio 55 Dance earned the Professionalism Award. The dancers’ notable performances were acknowledged by the invitation to participate in the historic parade.

“I was ‘over the moon’ excited when I learned that we earned the opportunity to participate in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I am so proud of our Studio 55 dancers, and my only
concern is making sure that everyone has the opportunity to participate and that the cost is not prohibitive to any dancer,” May said.

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is one of the largest and best-known parades in the world. It is known for featuring the best entertainers, musicians and dancers mingled between elaborate floats and giant helium-filled balloons. In addition to learning choreography for the three-hour parade, participation comes with a hefty price tag that includes transportation, accommodations and costumes.

With only a few months until the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Studio 55 dancers are fundraising through coupon card sales, as well as seeking sponsorships from businesses and individuals, to help offset the costs to families.
