Woodstock Mayor Plans Book Signing For Debut Novel

"Social Actions: A Vietnam Story" focuses on a soldier who served in the war struggling to readjust to civilian life.

WOODSTOCK, GA — A book signing will be held later this month to allow residents to learn more about the debut novel written by Woodstock Mayor Donnie Henriques.

The book signing for "Social Actions: Vietnam Story" will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24 at FoxTale Book Shoppe at 105 East Main Street. The book tells the story of Patrick Haney, who entered the Air Force upon graduating from high school. Haney was thrust into Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War where "things went sideways quickly."

"He thought he had left it all behind, but it followed him back to the real world," according to a press released issued by Yawn's Publishing. "He didn't know who to trust, but he had to trust someone. Too many people around him had died."
