Woodstock Road, Victory Drive Intersection Project Begins

WOODSTOCK, GA — Cherokee County residents will see intersection improvements at Woodstock Road and Victory Drive by next year, as crews will begin work in the next few weeks.

The Cherokee Board of Commissioners awarded a standard construction contract at its June 16 meeting for construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Woodstock Road and Victory Drive to low bidder Bartow Paving Company in the amount of $962,858.

“The county is looking to provide a safer intersection configuration at the current three-way intersection,” said Cherokee County Deputy County Manager Geoff Morton. “A roundabout design is the best option for this intersection.”

Area residents can expect to see advanced warning signs being placed. Construction on this Special Local Option Sales Tax-funded project is expected to start within the next several weeks and be completed in a year.
