Woodstock Will Not See An Election In November

No candidates qualified other than the incumbents for their seats as Council Member Ward 2, 4, and 6.

WOODSTOCK, GA — The City of Woodstock will not be holding the Municipal General Election originally scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Qualifying for Council Member Ward 2, 4, and 6 seats was held the third week of August.

Incumbents David Potts (Ward 2), Tracy Collins (Ward 4), and Rob Usher (Ward 6) all qualified for re-election with no opposition.

They will take office of their new four-year term as Council Member on Jan. 1, 2020 with a reception and Swearing In Ceremony on Monday, Jan. 13, 2020 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Chambers at City Center located at 8534 Main Street, Woodstock.

The next election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021 to fill the Mayor and Council Member Ward 1, 3, and 5 seats.

Potts was elected in November 2015 to serve a four-year term as Council Member for Ward 2. This term runs from Jan. 1, 2016 to Dec. 31, 2019.

Collins was elected to serve as Council Member for Ward 4 in 2007 and served her first term from Jan.1, 2008 to Dec. 31, 2011. She was re-elected for her 2nd term in November 2015, serving from Jan. 1, 2016 to Dec. 31, 2019.

Usher was elected to fill the unexpired term of the late Tessa M. Basford for Council Member for Ward 6 in 2015 and served from Jan.26, 2015 to Dec. 31, 2015. He was re-elected to serve a four-year term from Jan. 1, 2016 to Dec. 31, 2019.
