Hawaii State Public Library Celebrates Juneteenth

Today, the Hawaii State Public Library System (HSPLS) commemorates and celebrates Juneteenth. It is a day to reflect and take time to understand our history and the experience of our African American neighbors and community. The National Museum of African American History and Culture features facts about Juneteenth, history and a framework for talking about race.

Our public libraries are all about learning, building, understanding, and growing. HSPLS has a collection of physical and digital books that focus on the important topic of racial injustice from a historical and personal perspective.
