Lanai Public & School Library will be participating in the Imagination Library Pilot Project. Children ages birth to four who reside on Lanai may register to receive free, high quality, age-appropriate books every month from Dolly Parton’s Dollywood Foundation. Interested parents and caregivers may register their children beginning on Friday, February 14. The launching of the Ohana Readers program will take place during the library’s Keiki story time starting at 10:00 a.m. The library is located at 555 Fraser Avenue.

‘Ohana Readers is designated as an Affiliate of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. It is through the ‘Ohana Readers collaborative partnership with the Dollywood Foundation, the Office of the Governor, the State Department of Human Services, the Hawaii State Public Library System, State Representative Lynn DeCoite, Friends of the Library of Hawaii and nonprofit partners, that the Imagination Library is available to Lanai children, ages birth through four. Expansion to other islands will be dependent on the success of this pilot project and availability of funding.
