Waipahu Community Association Wins a Second Grant in Two Years as Part of Spectrum's $1 Million Commitment

Charter Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHTR) announced that Waipahu Community Association is among the winners of its second round of Spectrum Digital Education grants, a philanthropic initiative designed to support nonprofit organizations that educate community members on the benefits of broadband and how to use it to improve their lives.
Spectrum presented the $22,000 grant to the organization at the 13th annual Taste of Waipahu event on Saturday, November 3. It is the second Spectrum Digital Education grant for the Waipahu Community Association in two years. The second award brings the total of the two grants to more than $40,000 of funding to help provide digital education and bridge the digital divide for the local community.
“On behalf of the Waipahu Community Association board of directors, staff and volunteers, we are truly excited and honored to be selected as an awardee for the Spectrum Digital Education grant for a second year in a row,” said Henry Aquino, Waipahu Community Association, Executive Director. “Our work with the Waipahu Safe Haven and Immigration Resource Center will be focused on providing access and opportunities to people who may not be able to utilize updated technology and equipment due to a variety of socio-economic reasons. The awarded funding will allow WCA to work closely with area youth and seniors and immigrant families and individuals to educate and create future opportunities for themselves and the community.”
