Idaho, Europe-Africa Little League Game Delayed Due To Weather

WILLIAMSPORT, PA — Idaho and Europe-Africa were to play a consolation game Tuesday in the Little League World Series, but Mother Nature had other ideas. Organizers announced Tuesday morning that the game between the Coeur d’Alene Little Leaguers (0-2) and Catalunya (0-2) out of Barcelona, Spain, would be rescheduled for a later date.

"Little League International will endeavor to reschedule this game for a later date during the Little League Baseball® World Series," the announcement said.

Coeur d’Alene lost a heartbreaker to Michigan in the opening round Friday. Up 4-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Idaho gave up four runs and lost the game on a walk-off single. The team was then eliminated from the tournament by Georgia on Saturday, losing in a shutout 3-0.

Barcelona was routed by a tough Japan team Friday 11-1, then was eliminated on a walk-off single by Canada the following day in a low-scoring 2-1 affair.
