Boise School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Boise is August 22. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Boise School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

August

• 8/22: First Day of School

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/5 - 10/6: No School for Students (State In-service Days)
• 10/27: Grades K-6 No School

November

• 11/1: Kindergarten No School (Parent Conferences)
• 11/2: Grades K-6 No School (Parent Conferences)
• 11/3: No School for Students
• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Holiday Break)

December

• 12/21: Early Release
• 12/22 - 1/5: No School (Winter Holiday Break)

January

• 1/8: School Resumes
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
• 1/17 - 1/19: Grades 7-12 Early Release, End of Semester Testing
• 1/19: Grades K-6 Early Release, End of First Semester

February

• 2/19: No School (Presidents' Day)

March

• 3/8: Kindergarten Registration (3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.)
• 3/23: Grades K-6 Early Release, End of Third Quarter
• 3/26 - 3/30: No School (Spring Break)

May

• 5/18: Last Day for Seniors
• 5/25: Grades K-6 Early Release
• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)
• 5/30 - 6/1: Grades 7-12 Early Release, End of Semester Testing

June

• 6/1: Last Day of School, Early Release
