Boise State Athletic Calendar For Saturday, March 20

BOISE, ID. — A number of Boise State teams are in action today.
The Boise State track and field is set to compete at its first outdoor competition in 651 days. The Broncos are headed to Las Vegas for the UNLV Spring Invitational and Sheila Tarr-Smith Multis, Saturday, March 20. The last time a Boise State track and field athlete appeared in an outdoor competition was the 2019 NCAA Outdoor National Championships in Austin, Texas.
The field includes Boise State, BYU, Fresno State, Nevada, New Mexico, Southern Utah, UNLV, Utah State, Utah Valley, Westminster, Weber State and Wyoming. The track events will begin at 9:15 a.m. MT with the women's 5,000-meter, while field events will start at 10 a.m. MT beginning with the women's shot put.

The Boise State women's tennis team (5-2) will host the Montana State (0-5) this coming Saturday at the Appleton Tennis Center, with a match start time set for 11 a.m. Saturday originally pitted the Broncos against Gonzaga, but COVID-19 issues within their program caused for the match to be canceled. Just like last weekend, limited fans will be allowed at the Appleton Tennis Center, social distancing and face masks will be mandatory and enforced.
The Boise State volleyball team (10-2) returns home for one match this week when the San Diego State Aztecs (4-8) come to town for a 12 p.m. first serve on Saturday in Bronco Gym.
COVID-19 safety measures are in place at Boise State which means only a limited number of family members will be allowed to attend this week's match against San Diego State. The best way to follow this week's action is by going to the volleyball schedule on BroncoSports.com and clicking on the appropriate "Live Scoring" and/or "Live Stream" links for the particular match you want to follow. The live stream is free of charge courtesy of the Mountain West Network.
Boise State softball (5-9) opens Mountain West Conference play this weekend with a three-game series at UNLV (11-8) on Saturday and Sunday. These will be the first MW contests for either team since the spring of 2019 after last year's campaigns were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been 659 days since Boise State last took the field versus a conference opponent, May 11, 2019 at Fresno State.
The series opens with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 2 p.m. (Mountain) at Eller Media Softball Stadium in Las Vegas and concludes with a 1 p.m. (MT) game on Sunday.
Boise State men's tennis brings an eight-match win streak into the weekend when they host both Weber State (4-5) and Montana State (3-3). The action begins Saturday when the Broncos entertain the Weber State Wildcats at 2 p.m. (Mountain) at the Appleton Tennis Center. The weekend will conclude on Sunday with an encounter versus the Montana State Bobcats at 12 p.m. (Mountain) at the Boise Racquet and Swim Club at 1116 N. Cole Road in Boise, near Boise Towne Square.
