City Of Boise: Boise Fire Responds To Several Fires Over 4th Of July Weekend

The Boise Fire Department was extremely busy on the 4th of July weekend. From July 3rd to July 5th crews responded to 24 fires in the Boise area. Fireworks were the cause of 15 of the fires. One fire was caused by a sky lantern. The cause of three fires were ruled as undetermined and two fires are still under investigation.

At 5:54 p.m. on July 4th a structure fire located on the 4800 block of Pierce Park was called into dispatch. The Boise Fire Department arrived on scene at 5:59 p.m. Ten apparatus and 25 personnel worked on the fire of a single-story family home. The fire was controlled by 6:18 p.m. No injuries were reported. Fireworks were involved in this fire and it has been ruled as accidental, however this is still under investigation.

At 9:21 p.m. on July 4th a structure fire located at the 2900 block of Linda Vista was called into dispatch. The Boise Fire Department arrived on scene at 9:24 p.m. Firefighters worked on the fire of a single-wide mobile home. Neighbors reported that the occupants had escaped the home before the arrival of Boise Fire. The fire was controlled by 9:32 p.m. On July 5th, neighbors called in to dispatch at 9:56 a.m. reporting smoke coming from the roof of this same address. Boise Fire arrived at 10:02 a.m. Crews performed a walk-through and discovered smoldering debris in the kitchen and at a small area on the roof by the doorway. The smoldering areas were soaked with water by firefighters. No injuries were reported on either day. Fireworks were involved in this fire and it has been ruled as accidental, however this is still under investigation.
