Crash Near Smiths Ferry Sends One To Hospital

A crash on Monday injured a Cascade man.

SMITHS FERRY — A Cascade resident remains hospitalized after a crash Monday afternoon.

On Monday, June 28, 2021, at 1:49 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated an injury crash southbound on US95 at mile marker 98, near Smiths Ferry.

Ronald T. Neil, 74, of Cascade, was driving northbound on SH55 in a 1994 GMC Sonoma. Murriel L. Baptiste, 79, of Garden Valley, was driving southbound in a 2018 Ram 1500.

Neil crossed the center line and struck the Ram. Neil was transported by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Baptiste was not transported. Both occupants were wearing a seatbelt.

The southbound lane was blocked for approximately two hours.
