The overall crime rate for Ada County fell from 2019 to 2020 7.74%. The number of crimes per 1,000 residents for 2020 was 41.01. For 2019, that number stood at 44.45.

Leading the downturn was gambling and bribery, both down 100%. However, like most statistics, those numbers are misleading. Each crime had one listed occurrence in 2019 and none in 2020. A 100% decrease is true, but does not tell the whole story.
