Daybell Pleads Not Guilty To All Charges

The man facing three counts of murder formally entered not guilty pleas to all charges.

ST ANTHONY, ID — Chad Daybell, along with his attorney John Prior, appeared for his arraignment in person before District Judge Steven Boyce on Wednesday, June 9. For each charge read, Daybell pleaded not guilty.

Daybell and his wife, Lori Vallow Daybell, face a multitude of charges related to the deaths of two of Vallow's children - 16-year-old Tylee Ryan and 7-year-old Joshua Vallow. Daybell is also charged in the murder of his first wife, Tammy Daybell.

Lori Vallow's case is on hold after Boyce placed her case on a temporary hold and ordered her be placed with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare for mental health treatment.

  • Conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and grand theft by deception for the death of JJ Vallow.
  • First-degree murder for the death of JJ Vallow.
  • Conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in the death of Tammy Daybell.
  • First-degree murder in the death of his wife Tammy Daybell.
  • Insurance fraud related to a life insurance policy he had on Tammy Daybell for which he was the beneficiary and received funds after her death.
  • Insurance fraud related to another life insurance policy he had on Tammy Daybell for which he was the beneficiary and received funds after her death.
  • Conspiracy to commit destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence related to the bodies of JJ and Tylee. (Previous charge)
