Eastbound 84 To Close Friday Night

The Idaho Department of Transportation will close eastbound traffic on I-84 at the Karcher Exit on Friday evening.

BOISE, ID — The Idaho Department of Transportation announced Interstate 84 will close all eastbound lanes between Karcher Road and Midland Boulevard on Friday evening.

The closure will allow crews to finish demolition of the Ustick Road Overpass and begin at 10 p.m. Crews are expected to reopen the interstate at 7 a.m. Saturday morning.

Traffic will exit onto Franklin Road in Caldwell (Exit 29) and be detoured to Nampa and Caldwell Boulevard to Exit 33 near Karcher and Midland Boulevard.

The overpass is being removed to allow for the additional lanes between Nampa and Caldwell. The project is expected to take 15 months to complete.
