BOISE, ID.—The House State Affairs Committee approved and forwarded to the House proposed legislation prohibiting government entities from mandating masks like the one currently in place in Boise.

This is a reworked version of previous bill banning masked mandates at medical facilities. The new bill allows hospitals and healthcare facilities like nursing homes to require masks. Private businesses could also still require masks.

Idaho has never required masks on a statewide basis. Counties and cities, Boise being one, have mandates on mask wearing currently in place.
