BOISE, ID — According to a recent study by StorageCafe, Boise residents like to get outside, bike, walk and live a healthy lifestyle.

The study places Boise as the 8th best city to live if enjoying an active lifestyle.

Idaho's capital is the second-friendliest city for bikes. The City of Trees boasts the 7th-highest percentage of commuters that bike to work at 3.1 percent and the 7th-lowest pedestrian fatality rate per 100,000 residents.

With a great infrastructure that encourages walking in most neighborhoods, Boise is the ninth-most walkable city in the nation.

Boise also reports 6th-lowest rates of diabetes and 14th-lowest percentage of physically inactive residents.

Boise achieved the overall ranking after it ranked among the top 20 cities for quite a few other indicators, including the percentage of people walking (11th) or biking to work (3rd), and the percentage of people in excellent or very good health (17th).
