Montessori Academy Parkcenter Releases Ladybugs for Earth Day

Students celebrated Earth Day by releasing 500 ladybugs in their schoolyard to help local vegetation

Students at Montessori Academy Parkcenter in Boise have been buzzing with excitement for Earth Day! On April 21, students celebrated Earth Day and taking care of the planet by releasing 500 ladybugs throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees. Students were dressed for the occasion in the likeness of their favorite insects.

Leading up to Earth Day, students learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees and shrubs. Montessori Academy teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
