Today is the holiday edition of the Boise Daily. In addition to celebrating our nation's birthday, today we also celebrate Idaho becoming a state. On July 3, 1890, Idaho was recognized as the 43rd state so Happy Belated Birthday Idaho (we were one day late).

Patrons may have to wait a few minutes for breakfast as restaurants continue to be short of staff. A new county sheriff is ready to take office and public art is coming to the Boise Depot neighborhood. Lastly, we take a look at Zoo Boise and their efforts to keep the animals cool during this weather.
