Today in Boise

- The Boise Public Library Board of Trustees regular meeting will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 11:30 a.m., in the Fish Tank room at the Main Library. The agenda can be found here.

- The Household Hazardous Waste collection for Thursday will be held at Fire Station 3 located at 2202 Gekeler Lane.

- The City of Boise Ethics Commission will meet Thursday at Boise City Hall starting at 3:30 p.m. The Commission is made up of five members from the community. These volunteers are a mix of two appointees from Council, two appointees from the Mayor, and one city employee who is nominated by the city's Wages and Benefits team. Together, they investigate potential violations of the city's Code of Ethics by city employees and elected officials, working in consultation with the offices of the City Attorney and Human Resources. Their job is to ensure the city's government runs with honesty and integrity for Boise. The agenda for the meeting can be found here.

- The Garden City Library is looking for children, ages six and up, to make a robot from reused items on Thursday. The Reuseum Educational begins at 4:40 p.m.

- Join the Idaho State Museum in this showing of Karen Day’s 2014 film, “Girl From God’s Country,” about Nell Shipman, the first female independent filmmaker and action-adventure heroine. The showing starts at 6 p.m. Enjoy general admission seating, a cash bar, and concessions for purchase as you watch the story of an unrepentant and unrelenting film pioneer in the Idaho Room under the glow of the historic stained-glass dome at the Idaho State Museum.

- The Human Rights Book Club will meet at Rediscovered Bookshop in Boise Thursday evening starting at 7 p.m.
