Range Fire Near Ashton, Idaho Estimated At 433 Acres

The Black Knoll fire is burning in sage, grass and Juniper approximately 10 miles northwest of Ashton.

ASHTON, ID — For those making a trip to eastern Idaho, a fire is burning near Ashton, Idaho and officials are asking the public to stay away from the Sand Creek Road.

The Black Knoll fire was reported Monday north of the Fremont County Landfill. Mapping of the fire late Monday reported acreage at 433 acres.

A dozer line has been completed on 60 percent of the fire early Tuesday morning and a tactical water tanker has joined the efforts.

Containment of the fire is estimated to be 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
