Patch Picks for the upcoming week: Obviously, new organizations are unable to provide the reader with exactly the stories to come. However, taking a look at what happened last week and the schedule of events for this week, here are some ideas of what you will see in the Boise Daily.

1. Ammon Bundy announced his candidacy for governor of Idaho and Boise Patch was there. We look at his plan for Idaho and the excitement of the crowd attending the event.

3. The fight has just started over the fate of Murgioto Park and the city's plan to trade the land near Victory Road for land in the foothills.

4. Cities will be releasing plans for Independence Day. Out story on the demise of the Boise parade brought some of our most responses ever. Boise loves a parade and people are not pleased to not be sitting on the sidewalks of downtown the morning of the fourth.

5. Look for an upcoming article on one of out many neighborhood groups-what the group does, the problems the group faces and the future of local groups in Boise.

Boise Fact of the Day: The largest firework display consisted of 810,904 fireworks and was achieved by Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) (Philippines), at the Countdown to 2016 New Year Celebrations, in the Philippine Arena, Ciudad de Victoria Bocaue Bulacan, Manila, Philippines, on 1 January 2016. Boise has a way to go to beat this one.

About me: With the growth of collegiate sports, I miss the old University of Idaho/Boise State University rivalries. Parents today miss the joy of having the house invaded by six or seven college students, home for the weekend and the game.
