Frost Advisory Turns Into Weekday Warmup: Illinois Weather

Be prepared for a warmup as temperatures could reach into the 70s.

ILLINOIS —Despite a frost advisory in place until 8 a.m. Monday for counties including Will, southern Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Lake, a warmup is coming to the Chicago area this week.

Temperatures are expected to drop to the low- to mid-30s Sunday night, so the National Weather Service is warning gardeners to cover sensitive outdoor plants to keep them from being killed or damaged.

But after a somewhat gloomy weekend, the week will bring sunshine and temperatures that could get into the mid-70s. Temps could dip into the 40s on Tuesday and Wednesday nights but could hit 73 by Wednesday.
