Registering to Vote at the DMV

Registering to Vote at the DMV after February 20th.

If Will County residents visited a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) after February 20, their automatic voter’s registration will not be processed until after the March 20, 2018 General Primary Election. (Per the Voter Registration Bill passed on 8/28/17)

The National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) requires the DMV to continue taking registrations even after the deadline of February 20.

If you still wish to vote on Tuesday, March 20, please visit the Will County Clerk’s website at www.thewillcountyclerk.com and select the Register to Vote Quick Link. This will provide you with information on Grace Period Registration and Voting, online registration through March 4, or Same Day Registration at your polling place on Election Day.
