Slushy Snow, Colder Temperatures To Hit Chicago Area

ILLINOIS ? After weeks of unseasonably warm temperatures, colder weather is moving back into Illinois this week, along with the possibility of slushy snow accumulation Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

There's a 30-45 percent chance for "a burst of snow" Tuesday night south of I-80, which could mean slick travel in those areas on Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

The next rain and snow chances will arrive Wednesday into Thursday, with a near-80 percent chance of rain Wednesday night and slushy snow accumulation Thursday morning, mainly north of I-88 and near the Illinois/Wisconsin state line.

Temperatures will turn colder Friday and Saturday, with more chances of snow Friday. Wind chills could go as low as zero degrees Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.
