The weather service said snow will develop toward midday and increase during the afternoon on Sunday. Snow will end by midnight for most of the area. The probability of 2+ inches of snow for most of the area is "medium," according to the weather service.
Saturday will be partly cloudy with a high of 26, and Sunday will have a high of 35. After the snow on Sunday, temps in the 30s are expected for the work week, with a possibility of hitting 40 degrees on Tuesday, according to the weather service.

The break in cold temperatures will be welcome for the Chicago area, which has received 34.1 inches of snow in the last three weeks. The normal snowfall for the entire season is 36.3 inches, according to the weather service.
