Highs In The 60s, Big Warm Up Expected For Illinois

Temperatures in the 60s are possible Monday and Tuesday after a mild and dry weekend.

ILLINOIS — After a few days of chillier temperatures, the weekend and into the start of the week will feel very mild for the Chicago area. According to the National Weather Service, a high of 49 is expected Saturday, and a high of 54 is expected on Sunday, with the coolest temps along the lakeshore.

Even warmer temperatures are expected Monday and Tuesday as highs of 63 and 64 degrees are expected, according to the weather service.

The weekend will be sunny and dry. Both Monday and Tuesday will be breezy, according to the weather service.

The weather service said on its Twitter that a high pressure continues to keep weather quiet for the next few days. The winds will switch to the south on Sunday, which will allow temperatures to climb into the 60s by Monday, the weather service said.

The south winds will become breezy on Monday and Tuesday, the weather service said, and more active weather is expected by mid-week, with a chance of rain and thunderstorms as well.
