These 22 Illinois Hospitals Are Among The Best In US: Newsweek

ILLINOIS — Several Illinois hospitals were ranked among the best in America by Newsweek.

The magazine’s “World’s Best Hospitals” list for 2021 ranked the top hospitals around the world, including in the United States. It’s the third year Newsweek has partnered with the data firm Statista to publish the list.

Twenty-two Illinois hospitals ranked among the top 200 in the country:

• Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, No. 15
• Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, No. 19
• University of Chicago Medical Center, Chicago, No. 26
• Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, No. 56
• Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, No. 61
• Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, No. 74
• Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, No. 97
• Northwestern Medicine - Delnor Hospital, Geneva, No. 119
• Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox, No. 128
• AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center, Hinsdale, No. 169
• Advocate Christ Medical Center, Oak Lawn, No. 173
• Edward Hospital, Naperville, No. 177

In its methodology, Newsweek explained that it looked at three data sources to compile the rankings: recommendations from medical experts, results from patient surveys, and medical KPIs on hospitals.

Hospitals in the U.S. were also recognized for infection prevention if they performed above the national average based on data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
