Walmart Yodeling Boy Gets Record Deal

Illinois 11-year-old Manson Ramsey also fulfilled his dream of performing at the Grand Ole Opry.

GOLCONDA, IL — It's been a busy couple of months for 11-year-old Mason Ramsey. Better known to fans as Little Hank, the pint-sized country singer first drew the world's attention after a video of him performing Hank Williams Sr.'s "Lovesick Blues" at a Harrisburg, Illinois, Walmart racked up millions of views online. Mason hails from small-town Golconda, Illinois.

The clip — just the latest Walmart performance for the budding young singer — also landed him an appearance on the "Ellen DeGeneres Show" in early April, when the TV star surprised Mason with college scholarship money and the news that he'd been invited to perform in Nashville at the Grand Ole Opry.

Now, Mason has scored a record deal, signing with Atlantic Records and Nashville-based Big Loud Records., according to NBC Chicago. On Friday, the singing sensation also announced he's released his first single, "Famous."

Yodeling 'Walmart Boy' From Illinois Captures Hearts Online

Mason took to Twitter on Friday to ask fans to help get the song to No. 1 on iTunes. At the time, the single was at No. 95. As of Monday morning, "Famous" was sitting at No. 9 on the charts.

Thanks to his internet success, has also made appearances at April's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival as well as Stagecoach, California's country music festival.
