Yodeling 'Walmart Boy' From Illinois Captures Hearts Online

Mason Ramsey, 10, of Harrisburg, was caught on camera singing Hank Williams' "Lovesick Blues."

HARRISBURG, IL — A 10-year-old singing sensation from Harrisburg, Illinois, is gaining fans online after a video of his rendition of Hank Williams' "Lovesick Blues" was shared on Twitter. Mason Ramsey — known in his hometown in the Illinois-Indiana-Kentucky Tri State Area as "Little Hank" — was caught crooning the tune at a local Walmart store on March 24, and the video was shared several days later.

The original tweet featuring Mason's musical stylings has been shared more than 50,000 times and has nearly 17 million views since it was posted, drawing praise from fans online.

"This young man did an extremely great Impression of Hank," one fan on Twitter said. "I love it, and Hank Williams."

Another tweeted that young Mason should try his hand on "America's Got Talent," while a fan on YouTube wrote, "Lil Hank is Hank Williams reincarnated. He's keeping the music alive."

The recent video isn't the first time Mason's songs have generated attention online. In 2017, a clip of the 10-year-old singing another Hank Williams tune, "Hey Good Lookin',"got more than 120,000 views, and in 2015, he took first place in the beginner division of the 27th Annual Kentucky Opry Talent Search with his version of "Your Cheatin' Heart." Last year, a Tennessee radio station also invited Mason to perform in studio.
