Coroner IDs Motorcyclist Killed In LITH Collision
The Chicago man was killed Sunday morning after four motorcycles collided on Virginia Road near Pingree Road in Lake in the Hills.
LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — A Chicago motorcyclist killed after four motorcycles collided on Virginia Road in Lake in the Hills Sunday morning has been identified Frank Muniz, 52, authorities said.
The collision occurred just before 11 a.m. when one of seven motorcycles traveling in a group lost control, according to a news release from the Lake in the Hills Police Department. This led to four motorcycles crashing into each other.
Muniz was taken to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Huntley where he was later pronounced dead. Another motorcyclist was transported to Advocate Sherman Hospital where he was treated and released for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Two other motorcycles were damaged during the crash, but the drivers were not injured.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash. No charges have been filed at this time, police said.

Muniz's autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, McHenry County deputy coroner Olivia Zednick told Patch in an e-mail response.
