14th Annual Take A Shot At Hunger to Support Food Pantry

Golfers, friends and supporters of the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry are once again preparing for the 14th Annual Take a Shot At Hunger. This event, which takes place on the Friday before the Labor Day Weekend (August 30th this year) draws over 100 golfers and in the 13 years of the outing has donated over $140,000 to the food pantry.

The outing has a number of games, door prizes and raffles. The Food Pantry Golf Outing started in 2006 by a group of local residents who wanted to get one last round of golf in as the summer ended. The event is designed for everyone to have a great time, skilled golfer or not. The fundraising efficiency of the event allows 100% of the monetary donations received to go directly to the Food Pantry.

Your registration fees cover a full round of golf with a cart, free range balls before the round, tees and ball markers, a sleeve of balls, two beverages, and a great meal after the round with many door prizes. And with the cooperation of the course, registered golfers play for cart fees only Monday through Thursday the week of the event.
