Algonquin Officials Apply For $350K In Business Relief Funding
The funding aims to help local businesses impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, according to Algonquin officials.
ALGONQUIN, IL — It's no secret that many businesses nationwide have taken a financial hit due to the coronavirus. Local mom and pop shops in the Algonquin area are certainly no exception.
In an effort to help ease the burden felt my many area businesses, Algonquin village officials announced that they recently applied for $350,000 in funding from Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to distribute to eligible businesses on a first-come first-serve basis as a one-time grant.
Anticipated grant amounts will vary and are intended to be paid within the range of $5,000 to $15,000, proportional to the amount of documented losses. Village staff will review applications and award grant funds to eligible businesses that complete an application and submit required documentation.

Due to the program requirements, village officials said that businesses located in Kane County are not eligible for funding through Impacted Business Relief Program and must apply for relief funding through the Kane County Coronavirus Relief Fund.
